Sukhpal Khaira moves High Court after receiving threats

Chandigarh, February 5

Senior Punjab Congress leader and MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira has sought refuge in the Punjab and Haryana High Court for modification of his bail orders. He has filed an application in the court stating that he is getting death threats from the gangsters.

Khaira claimed that he is being threatened with death by gangster Arsh Dalla, who is hiding in Canada. He has deposited his licensed firearm but fears for his life. In such a case, keeping in mind their self-protection, their weapons should be returned.

The High Court has issued a notice to the Punjab government after considering all the parties in this matter. Now the next hearing of the case has been fixed on February 14.
