Sidhwan branch, off-taking from Sirhind Canal, to remain closed for 21 days

Chandigarh, December 23

Punjab Water Resources Department has decided to close the Sidhwan branch for 21 days.

Disclosing this here, the official spokesperson said that keeping in view the weather condition and status of crops, it is notified that Sidhwan Branch, off-taking from Sirhind Canal, will remain closed for 21 days from 21 December, 2023 to 10 January, 2024 (both days inclusive) to complete the work of construction of bridges.

The notification in this regard has been issued under the Rule-63 of Rules framed under the Northern India Canal and Drainage Act, 1873 (Act No VIII of 1873).
