RTA Bathinda Poonam Singh today checked school buses of various schools and penalised them for violating the norms mandated under Safe Vahan Policy.

Poonam Singh said it has come to the notice of the Department that the schools at times do not adhere to the instructions issued by Department of transport as per the Transport policy. These violations include the condition of the bus etc. As a result it is difficult to ensure the security of the students travelling through these buses.

Poonam Singh said despite a series of orders issued by the high court of Punjab and Haryana, the private schools continue to disobey the mandatory guidelines and violate the prescribed rules.
