RCF commences production of sleeper coaches for Bande Bharat train first time railways says GM

Rail Coach Factory(RCF) Kapurthala has commenced the production of sleeper coaches for the first time in Indian railways for 16 sets of famous Bande Bharat express trains and likely to roll out first train in the next financial year.

This was disclosed here today by RCF General Manager S.Srinivas while talking to media persons after presiding over a function to honour 16 factory employees on their retirements for rendering valuable services and also giving away promotion orders to 29 employees in place of retiring offcials.

He disclosed that factory engineers have completed the design and planning and placed orders for the procurement of parts and other equipments .Narrating the salient features of new sleeper coach for the Bande Bharat train which will have aesthetic interiors , improved lights like aeroplane besides fitted with the passengers talk back facility with the driver of train in case of emergency, vacuum toilet like aeroplane and automatic outer doors and sensor fitted inner doors.

GM claimed that RCF has fetched an export order to manufacture 200 coaches of different variants for Bangladesh railways and RCF would start its production soon .

RCF will roll out 41 sets of Main line Electrical Multiple units (MEMU) by the end of March next year said GM.

GM said RCF has rolled out forty three thousand coaches of different types since its inception in 1985.

He said that trials of Vistdome coaches manufactured by factory remained successful and these coaches would be put into operation on Kalka-Shimla heritage rail track soon.
