Punjab Pradesh Congress Treasurer and former MLA Amit Vij has expressed concern over the financial disarray of the state.
In a statement issued here, he said that the Aam Aadmi Party’s Bhagwant Mann government of the state should focus on generating revenue instead of increasing debt.
Before the elections, the party assured the people that they would earn additional revenue of Rs 52 thousand crore every year from savings from mining and contracts. But on the contrary the government has In this itself, a debt of Rs 50,000 crore has been imposed on the people of the state.
If this is the speed of the government, and it is not stopped, then by the end of this year the debt will reach Rs 66000 crore. Due to which our interest payment installment with the loan will increase, reducing our ability to invest in capital projects and central government-sponsored schemes. He said that we can avail the benefits of these schemes only if we contribute 50% of the amount.
