In its relentless crusade against the prevailing malpractices within its affiliated educational and law institutions, Punjabi University has undertaken resolute actions against the implicated institutions.

Dr. Gurpreet Singh Lehal, Dean of the College Development Council at Punjabi University, revealed that multiple complaints had been received against colleges for operating in non-attending mode or without approved faculty members. Surprise inspections were conducted at these institutions unearthing disconcerting results.

S S Girls College for Education, Bhikhi has been prohibited from enrolling students in their entry-level classes. This stern action has been taken due to the college’s failure to employ any approved faculty members and the presence of various other irregularities.

During these inspections, six B.Ed. colleges were found to have little to no faculty or students present.

The six colleges are: Asra College of Education Bhawanigarh, Guru Nanak College of Education Samaon, Swami Vivekanand College of Education Moonak, Mata Gurdev Kaur Memorial Educational Institute Bareta, Milkha Singh Educational Institute Bareta, and Malwa College of Training and Education Malakpur Khiala.

In response, Punjabi University has taken decisive action, issuing strict warnings to these colleges and significantly reducing their student intake from 200/100 seats to a mere 50 seats each.
