Punjab villages to get city-like facilities: Harbhajan Singh ETO

Punjab Public Works and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Saturday said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government is committed to providing city-like facilities in the villages of the state.

Inaugurating development works worth Rs 14 lakh at village Saidon Lahil, the PWD Minister said that the state government will upgrade the rural infrastructure at the pattern of the cities.

These development works inaugurated here today include the construction of the ring road around village and the installation of interlocking tiles around it.

Earlier, Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO heard the grievances of the people at the village Jeevan Pandher and Saidon Lahil.

He said that as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, under the ‘Sarkar Tuhade Duar’ program it is being ensured to reach out to the people to know their grievances and resolve these on the spot.

He said that people no longer have to go to the district-level offices for their complaints as their complaints are being resolved at the village level.

ETO said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption so that the government system can be made transparent and people-friendly.
