Punjab governor to visit 5 border districts again, to meet sarpanches/people

Chandigarh, January 25

Punjab governor Banwarilal Purohit has planned to visit 5 border districts of the state on Feb 1 and 2.

As per the tentative schedule, Purohit will meet people of Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Pathankot, Fazilka and Ferozepur districts during his 2-day visit.

He will meet sarpanches and prominent citizens of various villages. He will also address the media in each of these districts.

A detailed program of the Governor’s visit, having more than 40 visits, has been chalked out with minute to minute programme.

His visit likely to spread political heat again as happened during his previous visit to various state villages in September 2022 during Channi government.The ruling congress party had targeted him for allegedly interfering in politics.
