Punjab Floods: One dies in Beas river in Kapurthala

The body of one person was found floating in Beas river in the Mand areas of Dhilwan on Friday evening, according to police.

Bholath DSP Karnail Singh confirmed the recovery of body in the Swollen Beas River.

Police identified the deceased as Buta Mohammad (40)resident of Dhilwan.

Police said the deceased was missing from Thursday. He went to river to fetch fish and he slipped into the flowing water.

Meanwhile ,water in swollen has started receding to 2 lakh cusec giving some relief to flood affected farmers . However more than fifty thousand acres paddy crops are still under 5 feet of water .
Meanwhile Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal and his followers served cooked food to flood affected farmers at their houses in Mand areas of Sultanpurlodhi and also distributed grocery items to them.
