The police have solved the Phagwara car theft case by arresting the accused and recovered the vehicle besides nabbing a drug smuggler with 38 grams of heroin at Phagwara and eight inducing in clash.

SSP Vatsala Gupta said that on the night of December 15 at around 9:30 pm, the Corolla car of local resident Tarlochan Singh was stolen from the market in Phagwara when he had gone for buying some eatables. Later, the cops constituted separate teams under supervision of Phagwara SP Gurpreet Singh and DSP Jaspreet Singh to crack the case and arrested Inderjeet of Rampura, Bathinda (now residing in Bhagatpura, Phagwara) after a detailed probe. The cops have also seized the stolen car and accused also confessed to other crimes.

In seperate cases, SSP said that Phagwara police had nabbed Harpreet Singh of Khalwara after recovering 38 gm heroin from his possession. A case was lodged against him under various sections of NDPS Act. She also said that the a case had also been registered against nine youngsters indulged in clash. She said nine youngsters were also arrested to ensure maintenance of law & order situation.
