Police Commemoration Day: Tributes pour in for brave heart cops in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, October 21

The Ferozepur Police observed Police Commemoration Day in memory of martyred police officers and employees and tributes were paid during a ceremony held at Police Line today. The brave hearts who sacrificed their lives were remembered by observing 2-min silence and reversing arms as a mark of respect.

On this occasion, SSP Deepak Hillori, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Gurmeet Singh Tiwana and SP(D) Randhir Kumar paid floral tributes to the martyrs of the police department by offering floral wreaths. The police unit led by parade commander DSP Angrez Singh gave a guard of honour at the Martyrs’ Monument and a two-minute silence was also observed.

Paying homage to the martyred policemen on this occasion, SSP Deepak Hilouri said that the martyrs are the capital of the country and the nation, due to whose sacrifices we are enjoying the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. From these martyrs, we always get motivation to perform our duty with full devotion and honesty.

He said that we will always be indebted to these selfless sacrifices of martyrs and on this day Punjab Police is always standing with the families of the martyrs where they pay their respects to their brave martyrs and they will not be allowed to face any kind of trouble.

SP Randhir Kumar said that the martyrs have made a great contribution to the peace and tranquility of the country. He said that even after independence, the defence forces have made huge sacrifices to maintain law and order in the country which can never be forgotten. He thanked the families of the martyrs who joined the event.

The family members of around 50 martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of the country were honoured.

Later, the SSP listened to the problems of martyr’s family members and instructed the officials to solve them on the spot. The entire event was conducted Lakhbir Singh, ASI.

Present among others on this occasion were, Rajinder Krishna Commandant Punjab Home Guards, DSP Bhupinder Singh, DSP Sandeep Singh, DSP Balkar Singh, DSP Yadwinder Singh, DSP Gurdeep Singh, Jaspal Singh DSP (Retd.), SHOs of the district, family members of the martyrs and a large number of people who paid tribute to the martyrs.
