Police busts interstate gang of drug and weapon smugglers, recovers 7 pistols and 300 grams heroin

Kapurthala police today busted interstate gang of drug and illegal arms smugglers with the arrest of its four members and recovered seven country made pistols and 300 grams heroin from their possession.

This was disclosed here today by Senior Superintendent of Police Vatsala Gupta in a press conference .

She further disclosed that the arrested smugglers including its kingpin were recently released from Ludhiana jail .One of the arrested accused Neeraj Kumar resident of Meenapur in Bihar is involved in a bank dacoity case of rupees 40 lakh in the UCO bank at in Suavr district in Bihar and is a proclaimed offender and was also involved in more seven criminal cases said police.

SSP said the gang members used to bought illegal country made weapons from UP and Bihar and sell it in Punjab at the varying rates from forty to fifty thousand per weapon.

SSP claimed that police recovered 38 illegal weapons during month of March .

The arrested smugglers identified as Neeraj Kumar,Akashdeep,Tejpal Singh and Rahul.
