Police arrest 3 gangsters ; recovers 12 pistols 48 live cartridges in Kapurthala

Kapurthala police on Thursday arrested three gangsters including its kingpin Sukhwant Singh Sukha and recovered 12 pistols and 48 live cartridges and one Maruti swift car from their possession.
This was disclosed by Senior Superintendent of police Vatsala Gupta in release here today .

Narrating the details of their arrest ,SSP said all gangsters were intercepted at police Naka near Phagwara bypass and on the search of their car found 4 pistols .

On their interrogation police found eight more pistols and 48 live cartridges hidden at certain places .

Vatsala said the arrested gangsters had bought the pistols from Madhya Pardesh for committing crimes in the state .

The arrested gangsters identified as Sukhwant Singh Sukha resident of dhirpur falling in Jalandhar ,Roshan Singh and Ajay kumar both residents of Ferozepur .

Police also claimed to have solved the mystery of looting of rupees 2 lakh from a money exchanger at Phagwara two days ago with the arrest of accused Avtar Singh resident of Banga.

Police also recovered rupees nine lakh eighty thousand from accused Dildar Singh besides one pistol during search of his vehicle .

SSP claimed that police recovered 32 illegal weapons in two weeks from criminals during search operations in the district.
