PM Security Breach: Ex DGP and 2 senior cops to be charge-sheeted for major penalty; 6 IPS officers to be issued show-cause notice
Chandigarh, March 21
In the matter of the security breach of PM Modi in Punjab last year, CM Bhagwant Mann has given his approval to initiate disciplinary proceedings for major penalty against former DGP Punjab Siddharth Chattopadhyaya and two senior police officials – IGP Inderbir Singh and SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans. Now a major penalty chargesheet will be issued by the home department against the trio for dereliction of duty during the visit of PM Modi.
In addition to this, show-cause notices have been issued to six IPS officers – ADGPs Naresh Arora and G Nageshwara Rao, IGs MS Chinna and Rakesh Aggarwal, DIG Surjeet Singh and SSP Charanjit Singh by the home department.
