Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Gurdaspur today as part of his visit to flood-affected regions in Punjab. During the visit, he will conduct an aerial survey to assess the extent of damage caused by recent floods and monitor ongoing relief efforts.
The main objective of the Prime Minister’s visit is to evaluate the losses and ensure timely assistance reaches the affected families.
Following the survey, PM Modi will meet with flood-affected families, listen to their concerns, and offer words of support. He will also hold a review meeting with senior officials to discuss ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures.
Accompanying the Prime Minister are Punjab Governor, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, and other senior leaders. Tight security arrangements have been put in place in Gurdaspur to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit.
The visit is particularly significant as Gurdaspur and surrounding areas were among the worst-hit regions in the recent floods. Residents are hopeful that the Prime Minister’s assessment will translate into central government support and relief measures for the affected communities.
