Varinder Kumar, a Ph.D. Chemistry student at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been conferred with the “Young Scientist Award” for his outstanding research in nano-agrochemicals.
He received this prestigious award at “Indo-Canada International Conference on Advances in Research and Development (ICARD 2024),” jointly organized by All India Institute of Training and Education (AIITE), New Delhi; International Skill Development Council (ISDC), New Delhi; and Somnogen Canada Inc, Toronto, Canada; at Vasundhara Enclave, Dallupura, New Delhi, from January 27-28, 2024.
Varinder Kumar has submitted his Ph.D. dissertation on the “Development of nano metal sulfides formulations for the management of seed borne fungal pathogens of rice” under the supervision of Dr Anjali Sidhu, Nanotechnologist (Chemistry), Department of Soil Science, PAU.
During his doctoral studies, he published numerous research articles in highly impact journals of Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), American Chemical Society (ACS), Wiley and Springer Nature publishers, and has also been awarded the Best Research Paper Award and Best Oral Presentation Award in international conferences for his research work.
