PAU felicitates sports persons with awards

Celebrating the success of the 56th Athletic Meet, the Punjab Agricultural University’s Director of Students’ Welfare Dr Nirmal Jaura felicitated several sports persons for showing their proficiency in various games and sports.

On the occasion, the Best Hockey Player Mahaveer Singh was feted with Arjun Singh Bhullar Award, while the Best Athletes (men), namely Harshaan Singh, Arshdeep Singh and Jashandeep Singh Sandhu were conferred with Sardar Amarpal Singh Sandhu Award.

The Best Athletes (women), namely Harleen Kaur, Harmeet Kaur and Harita were felicitated with Lata Mahajan Chinnan Award.

The Best Cyclists Jashanpreet Kaur and Jasleen Kaur were feted with Sardar Davinder Singh Bansal Award, while the Best Tennis Players Meetnoor Singh and Guntaas were awarded Sardar Harpreet Singh Kalsi cash prize award.

Besides, Sardar Gurbachan Singh Bajwa Athlete Award was bestowed upon Harleen Kaur and Harshaan Singh, whereas Sardar Piara Singh Memorial Award was presented to Jagteshwarjot Singh, Mahaveer Singh and Harshaan Singh.

Extending thanks to Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU and philanthropic families for constituting these awards and lauding the accomplishments of PAU sports persons, Dr Jaura welcomed other families as well who were interested in donating for the personality enhancement of the students.

Among those present in the meeting were Dr RIS Gill, Estate Officer; Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director, School of Business Studies; Dr Kuldeep Singh, Associate Director (Skill Development), and members of the faculty and coaches of various games.
