Pathankot Police arrests 11, impounds 7 vehicles in ongoing crackdown against Illicit Liquor Trade

The Pathankot Police continues its relentless pursuit against the illicit liquor trade with another resounding success. In a record-breaking operation, the police apprehended one individual and seized a staggering haul of illicit liquor and pure spirit, marking their 8th significant action against this menace within a span of just two months.

In a daring move, Johny, son of Des Raj and resident of Awankha, Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, was apprehended while riding a motorcycle (TVS Apache PB 06 AJ 3114).

Acting on actionable intelligence, the Pathankot Police intercepted him at the Naka Kandrori Morr in the Nangal Bhoor police station jurisdiction. The accused was en route to Dinanagar via the Gharota side when the police successfully intercepted his unlawful activities.

Providing further details to the press, Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh, the senior superintendent of police, revealed that a dedicated team, led by SHO Nangal Bhoor Shohrat Maan and supervised by DSP City Lakhwinder Singh Randhawa, carried out a rigorous operation against the illegal trade of alcohol in the district.

Through meticulous investigation, an astounding discovery was made, consisting of 143 bottles of homemade illicit liquor, totaling an astonishing 1,07,250 milliliters.

In addition, a substantial quantity of 10 liters of pure spirit was confiscated. The case has been officially registered under FIR no. 23 U/s 61/1/14 of the Excise Act.
