Intense cold wave sweeps Punjab, Haryana; dense fog reduces visibility

Chandigarh, January 7

An intense cold wave is sweeping Punjab and Haryana as the two states recorded low temperatures.

Dense fog at many places reduced visibility hampered normal flow of traffic.

At 2.2 degrees, Delhi recorded the season’s coldest morning. This led to many trains running late and flights being delayed at the IGI airport.

The maximum temperatures in Haryana and Punjab, including in Chandigarh, have dropped sharply for the past few days, settling between 11 degrees and 15 degrees Celsius.
