Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, held ‘Sarkar Sannatkar Milni’ in Amritsar and Jalandhar to listen to the issues of industrialists of Punjab. In a first-of-its-kind and special initiative of the Punjab government, through meetings with industrialists and traders, CM Bhagwant Mann addressed the issues of businessmen.
Industrialists applauded the Mann government for their efforts to improve the sector and said that previous governments completely ignored their issues for years but with the change of government in Punjab we are on the right path now.
Amit Thapar, Chairman CII Northern Region Export Task Force & President Ganga Acrowools Limited, said that the proactiveness shown by the government by lending ear to legacy issues faced by industry is commendable. He added that long pending demand of a single agency for clearance of building plans and factory layouts was finally met in October 2022, with coloured stamp paper which is already notified. He said that the reforms brought to the sector by the Mann government helped businesses to flourish and move forward with ease.
Upkar singh Ahuja, President CICU ludhiana, said that Green Stamp paper with all required clearances for Industrial Land is one of the Unique initiatives. He commended the Punjab government for making Punjab the first state to implement Green Stamp paper. This single window system will help to set up factories on faster mode and reduce time, hassle and cost of starting a new business.
To support the Mann government’s claim of industrialists no longer fleeing from Punjab, Sachit Jain of Vardhaman Steels said that Punjab has a very good work culture and an approachable and responsive government now. We feel comfortable in Punjab and are planning to expand more in the state.
