India’s envoy to US Taranjit Singh Sandhu remembered his father Bishan Singh Samundri on his birthday.

Taking to micro-blogging site X, Sandhu wrote “Remembering my father Prof Bishan Singh Samundri on his birthday,”

An agriculture scientist in #Punjab, he went to US @OhioState for higher studies on scholarship & returned home to serve as the Principal of historic Khalsa College #Amritsar and later founder Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Son of legendary Gurdwara Reform Movt leader Teja Singh Samundri, Sardar Bishan Singh Samundri always drew strength from Sri Harmandir Sahib. His contribution in empowering young through education is deeply remembered by many in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala & other areas of Punjab,” he wrote on X.
