The Red Cross Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center Nawanshahr organized a drug awareness camp under “Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhyan” at Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Mehndipur (Balachaur). The camp was presided over by Principal Sukhjit Singh.
Project Director, Chaman Singh told the students of the school that the youth of Punjab had badly been trapped in the net of drugs.
“The land of Punjab has always given birth to brave warriors, but some people are putting the youth on the path of drugs for their own selfish motive and endangering the future of Punjab. Due to drugs, the youth are suffering from many diseases like black jaundice, AIDS, mental illness, impotence etc”, he said while advising the students that Facebook f they face any kind of problem, they should first share it with their teachers or parents.
One should live an ideal life by reading biographies of heroes and warriors and taking guidance from them. Students should associate with good society at the college level so that social evils can be avoided. Students should share their every problem with parents and teachers, he further said.
Sukhjit Singh, Principal, in his address exhorted the students to stay away from drug addiction and by joining hands with Red Cross we can make society drug-free.
