Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains released grant worth Rs.27.77 crore to rain and flood-affected government schools of the state for the repair work. Each school will receive an amount ranging from Rs.5,000 to Rs.30,000.
Divulging further, the Cabinet Minister said that Rs.20 crore have been allocated for primary schools, and Rs.7.77 crore for secondary schools. With this amount, school heads and management committees will undertake maintenance, cleanliness, painting and other necessary school repairs.
He said that a special survey is being conducted soon regarding the damages caused by rain and floods in government schools of the state, which will help in allocating funds according to the needs of the affected schools for their renovation and maintenance.
The Education Minister further stated that we are committed to fulfilling the visionary dreams of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann for transforming state into ‘Rangla Punjab’, and actively working towards the revival of the vibrant Punjab through collective efforts.
