The Delhi Andolan 2, which began 10 months ago with the call for a march to Delhi, continues at Shambhu, Khanauri, and Ratanpura (Rajasthan) borders. Amid this, on December 6, 8, and 14, the brutal crackdown by the Modi government on 101 marching farmer-laborer groups, and the stifling of constitutional rights for freedom of expression and protest, led the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Samyukt Kisan Morcha (non-political) to organize a 3-hour rail blockade across Punjab at 50-60 locations in 23 districts from 12 PM to 3 PM.

Key Points:

Rail Roko Movement:
Successful rail blockade at over 50 locations in Punjab’s 23 districts.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher stated the protest received widespread support from farmers, laborers, women, youth, and small traders.

Accusations:
The Indian government is determined to sell the country’s agriculture and public institutions to corporate houses.

Suicide Protest:
At Shambhu border, farmer Ranjit Singh consumed pesticide and died in protest against the central government.

Punjab Bandh on December 30:
A call for a Punjab Bandh against the atrocities of the central government. Emergency services will remain operational.

Demands:
₹25 lakh financial aid for the deceased farmer’s family, complete debt waiver, and a government job for one family member.

The movement will continue until all demands are met.
