Farmer commits suicide at Shambhu Border

Chandigarh, January 9

A farmer protesting at the Shambhu border over the demand for a Minimum Support Price (MSP) ended his life by consuming poison.

The deceased has been identified as Resham Singh, a resident of Pehuwind village, Tarn Taran. Reports suggest that the farmer consumed poison near the community kitchen area this morning.

Fellow protesters immediately rushed him to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, he passed away during treatment.
