DLSA holds seminar at Govt School Sharf Ali Shah in Ferozepur

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) under directions of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, organized a seminar related to the subject of legal literacy and the National Lok Adalat to be held on May 13 and women’s rights, at Goverment High School Sharf Ali Shah in Makhu Block, under the tutelage of Ekta Uppal, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Ferozepur and guidance of Virinder Agarwal District and Sessions Judge.

In this seminar, Chief Judicial Magistrate-City-Sector District Legal Services Authority, Miss Ekta Uppal informed that National Lok Adalat is being held on May 13, at District Ferozepur, Guruharsahai and Zira. In this Lok Adalat, all kinds of agreeable cases will be taken up.

Apart from this, she explained in detail about this National Lok Adalat, how the general public can take advantage of the facilities provided by this office. In pre-institution mediation concept, CJM openly presented her views with the students of the school. While addressing the school staff and students, she also gave detailed information about the POCSO Act 2012 and the legal aid available to women.

CJM also told the students about the media exploitation. In this seminar, she further explained that the National Legal Services Authority provides free legal services regarding legal literacy, victim compensation, Permanent Lok Adalat through Mediation Center.

On this occasion, Ms Sabha Yadav, Panel Advocate also presented the views about the children and apprised about the national toll free number 15100 and the state level helpline number 1968 and the landline number 01632-235034 in Ferozepur.
