DC orders to constitute Sub Division level committees to check illicit liquor

Kapurthala, March 1
Deputy commissioner Kapurthala Vishesh sarangal today asked the Excise and Police departments to constitute sub division level joint committees to check and stop the illicit liquor .
Today while reviewing the function of Excise department here at DAC , Sarangal said that these joint committees would have to increase the patrolling especially in the sensitive areas on the banks of rivers in the district .
Sarangal also asked the police officials to speed up the process to attach the property of drug smugglers besides working in a close cooperation with the excise department to ensure the punishment for culprits in the drug related cases .
SP Harvinder Singh said that the search operation by Punjab Police in drug prone areas have been launched under the guidance of SSP , comprising of the SPs and DSPs to not only catch the drug smugglers but also ensuring the rehabilitation of drug victims in the district .
Kapurthala AETC Inderjit Singh and other officials were also present in the meeting
