Deputy commissioner Captain Karnail Singh on Thursday ordered special girdwari to access the loss due to flood in river Beas and Satluj in a bid to ensure that affected people would be able to get compensation as soon as possible.
Following the directions given in the letter by Revenue and Rehabilitation department Punjab, DC has issued the orders regarding special Girdawari under which the revenue Patwari have been asked to submit loss assessments reports to DRTA branch at office of Deputy Commissioner as per the guidelines of SDRF.
The loss occurred due to flood estimated by Patwaris would be examined 100 percent by the Kannugo, followed 50 percent by CRO (Circle Revenue Officer) and 25 percent by concerned SDM.
Besides that, a random checking will be done by the Deputy Commissioner in person besides keeping an hawk eye on entire process through satellite using the services of Punjab Remote sensing centre Ludhiana.
DC also made it clear that concerned SDMs will be responsible to complete this process in given time frame under their direct supervision. Besides that, Chief Agriculture officer has been asked to assist the teams to access the crop loss.
Deputy Commissioner has also assured the people that all flood affected peoples would get compensation as per the guidelines of Punjab Government.
