Alert jail staff 4 mobiles seized from Ferozepur Central Jail

The alert jail staff has once again foiled the attempt to use mobiles smuggled in, by the jail inmates, by illegal means, with the seizure of 4 mobiles, while working swiftly on the in-puts.

As per the information, during the search operation of ‘chakkis’ by Sukhjinder Singh Assistant Superintendent, on a secret in-put, 4 mobiles were found – one each from the prisoner Arun Kumar, Vishal, and Jaspal Singh while the fourth one lying unclaimed. Lokesh Godara has also been booked in this recovery because he too is lodged in the ‘chakkis’. Apart from this, an unidentified person has also indicated in the FIR as an unclaimed mobile was also found to add any name later on during the investigation

Added here, On Sunday, a Pen drive was recovered from the jail, though nothing objectionable contents were found as confirmed by the Jail Superintendent but the recovery of a powerful information gadget has put the jail staff under suspicion. Moreover, during the current year, around 500 mobiles and other banned material reported to have been recovered, which has put a question mark on the security arrangements in and outside the jail premises? Frequent recovery of mobiles from inside the jail premises has put a question mark on the weak security arrangements at the entry points. More worrisome is its usage for illegal purposes from inside the jail causing harassment to the caller and members of their families.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered under Section 52-A of the Prisons Act and further investigations are on with Gurmail Singh, SI.
