7.29 crore rupees project ready to provide drinking water to Kharar residents: DC Aashika Jain

A project worth Rs 7.29 crore has been undertaken to provide clean drinking water to the residents of Kharar. Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain gives this information here today.

She said that in order to overcome the scarcity of drinking water due to continuous depletion of groundwater in Kharar town, surface water project from Kajauli water works has been prepared. In the Phase-I of this project, 5 MGD treated surface water from the existing water treatment plant being maintained by GMADA near village Jandpur will be supplied to Jandpur, Halalpur and area adjoining to the Jhungian road.

Aashika Jain further informed that funds for this work will be provided by Municipal Council, Kharar. This project will include the laying of a transmission line of 600/400 mm dia along PR-7 road upto Jhungian road and connection with the existing distribution network.
