2 women killed, three injured in road accident

Kapurthala, July 3

Two women were killed and three injured two of them seriously when a speeding truck hit them near Rail Coach Factory here today.

The deceased have been identified as Devinder Kaur(57) resident of saidobhulana, Ramandeep Kaur ((26) resident of RCF while the seriously injured identified as Anandita (37) and Poonam (20).The seriously injured were admitted in RCF hospital and on seeing their condition doctors shifted them to a private hospital at Jalandhar.
Police impounded the truck but driver fled away.

Police said that all the victims were standing on roadside and were waiting for autorickshaw to go to Kapurthala when a speeding truck hit them resulting in a fatal accident
