Punjab Govt assures support to farmers, appeals against blocking roads

Punjab Cabinet Minister and Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab President, Aman Arora, has assured farmers that the state government is always willing to listen to their concerns. However, he appealed to farmers not to block roads and cause inconvenience to the public.

Arora was speaking at an event where Raman Mittal took oath as the new Chairman of the Moga Improvement Trust, along with two other trustees,  Jagdish Sharma and Pyara Singh.

Arora emphasized that the Punjab government has always stood with farmers and the public, providing them with benefits like 8 hours of daytime electricity for agriculture needs, free electricity for households, and water supply to tail-ends. He added that the government’s doors are always open for farmers.

Regarding the recent budget presented by the Punjab government, Arora said it outlines the roadmap for “Badalde Punjab” (Changing Punjab), with the next two years dedicated to development. He assured that development projects will gain momentum and progress rapidly.

Arora also highlighted the government’s efforts to combat the drug menace, with a three-pronged strategy of prevention, enforcement, and rehabilitation. He mentioned that the employment bureau is providing free training to youth who have overcome addiction, enabling them to become employable or start their own businesses.

Other dignitaries present at the event included MLA Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora, MLA Davinderjit Singh Laddi, MLA Manjit Singh Bilaspur, MLA Amritpal Singh Sukhanand, Deputy Commissioner Sagar Setia, Mayor Baljit Singh Channi, and others.
