Hoshiarpur, June 26: Chairman of Punjab Trade Commission, Excise and Taxation Department Anil Thakur today held an important meeting with representatives of various trade organizations and trade associations of Hoshiarpur district at the District Administrative Complex. At the beginning of the meeting, Assistant Tax Commissioner Paramjit Singh and President of Vyapaar Mandal Hoshiarpur Gopi Chand Kapoor welcomed the Chairman.
Addressing the meeting, Chairman Anil Thakur said that as per the long-standing demand of the traders, he has sent a recommendation to the Finance Minister, Punjab for implementation of OTS (One Time Settlement) scheme for resolution of pending tax arrears of the first quarter of the year 2017-18 and this scheme will be implemented soon.
The Chairman listened carefully to the problems of the traders and representatives of industrial units, many of which were resolved on the spot with the help of departmental officers. The remaining complex issues were also assured to be resolved through the GST Council.
Mr. Thakur appealed to all the traders to cooperate in paying taxes in their respective areas so that the revenue of the state can be increased. He assured that the Punjab Government is committed to resolve all the problems of the traders on priority basis.
Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and various business organizations Somnath Bangar, Prem Chand Jain, Ajay Saini, Ajay Bhatia, Bobby Kaushal, Rajesh Jain, Munish Nanda, Prem Saini, Mohan Lal Dhingra, Chandra Mohan, Jag Roop Singh Dhami and other officials were present in the meeting.
At the departmental level, Deputy Commissioner State Tax Jalandhar Division Darvir Raj, Joint Director-cum-Deputy Commissioner State Tax Daljit Kaur, State Tax Officer Sandeep Kumar, Jagroop Singh, Nitika Agarwal, DS Cheema, Amarjit, Radha Raman, Gagandeep Singh, Raghu Raina and Assistant State Tax Officer Jasjit Kaur were present along with other officials.
