Police arrest six accused in Sudanese national murder case

Kapurthala, May 16: Phagwara police today solved the mystery behind the murder of Sudanese national Mohammad Wada Bala Yousaf (24) who was stabbed to death with a dragger and seriously injured his friend Ahmad Mohammad Nour (25) in a group clash with the arrest of six accused from Mandi in Himachal.

Addressing a press conference here this evening Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Toora disclosed that a gang war was going on between the two groups for the past several months on trivial issues which led to this group clash.He said deceased and his friend were the students of Lovely professional university and accused were mostly dropped out of the university.He ruled out the possibility of human trafficking issue as two girl students were also present there with the deceased and trouble arose on eve teasing of girls police said.

After the crime , the accused fled in a Bolero jeep and was tracked by police and they abandoned the jeep near Bilaspur and boarded the bus and were arrested in mandi from the bus .

A local court has remanded all the accused to five days police custody and the main accused Abhay raj was mainly responsible for attacking the deceased and his friend with a dragger.

Police recovered the dragger and a Bolero jeep .

Police also claimed to have solved another mystery behind the blind murder of Sodh Singh an instructor of Gatka with the arrest of seven accused and recovered two cars .

SSP said deceased was kidnapped near Mundi Mour and severally beaten to death and threw the body on the road side on the night of may 9&10.SSP said accused suspected some illicit relations with a minor girl of their relations.
