Pingalwara celebrates Bhagat Puran Singh’s birth anniversary

Chandigarh June 6: The birth anniversary of Bhagat Puran Singh, founder of the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, Amritsar, was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Palsora branch of Pingalwara in Chandigarh. The occasion began with the recitation and culmination of Shri Sukhmani Sahib and bhog.

This was followed by a blood donation camp organised by the team from Dr BR Ambedkar Institute, Phase VI, Mohali, and a medical camp set up by the Five Rivers organisation. The blood donation camp was inaugurated by the Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh, while the medical camp was inaugurated by Pingalwara’s dedicated volunteer and retired ADGP Jatinder Singh Aulakh, alongside P.C. Jain.

On the occasion social worker Harpal Singh highlighted Pingalwara’s continued commitment to social service, healthcare, and education. He informed that the Palsora branch also runs a special school for children with disabilities, whose students have won many medals in state-level competitions. In addition, the branch operates a free dental care and physiotherapy centre for patients.
The event was attended by Hardeep Singh Butrela, Councillor, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, Councillor Manovar, HC Gulati, Branch Incharge, Pingalwara Mahinder Singh & Nirmal Singh, Film Director Aujasvi, Shiv and Vishal from District Court.
