Ludhiana, April 17

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora expressed strong optimism about his political future during a large election rally held on Wednesday evening in F-Block, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Ward No. 56).

Prior to Arora’s speech, MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu addressed the crowd, urging voters to support Arora in the upcoming Ludhiana (West) Assembly by-election. Sidhu noted that Arora, if elected, would serve a two-year term before the next Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections. However, Arora, during his address, confidently predicted a much longer tenure, saying, “Don’t worry—I’ll be here for the next 12 years, as the present state government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will continue to lead for that long.”

Arora captivated the audience with his clear and heartfelt speech. “You have to fight this election for me because I’m not a politician—I don’t know how to contest elections,” he said in a categorical tone. Arora recalled that he never envisioned entering electoral politics but accepted the challenge after the demise of sitting MLA Gurpreet Singh Gogi. The AAP central leadership nominated him as their candidate, a decision he embraced with loyalty and dedication.

He highlighted the developmental work he has carried out as a Rajya Sabha MP, particularly for the growth of Ludhiana, earning applause from the audience.

MLA Sidhu, speaking in a lighter vein, remarked that people should vote in such numbers that the voting machines should beep “Arora-Arora.” He praised Arora’s ability to get public works done efficiently and fairly, saying, “For Arora, everyone is a VIP. Thus, he gives priority to everyone’s work.”

Municipal Councillor Tanvir Singh Dhaliwal echoed similar sentiments, calling Arora the most active MP he has seen in his political career. He predicted a record-breaking victory, saying Arora’s influence in government departments ensures swift resolution of public issues.

Other attendees included Surinder Sandhu, Hemant Sood, Rakesh Garg, Gulzar Pandher, Gopal Chohan, Mahavir, Darshan Singh, Pritpal Singh, Harpreet Kaur, Parminder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Sandhya Arora, and Kavya Arora.
