People pledge support to Jalandhar police under Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign at Thana Goraya

As part of the ongoing prevention campaign against drug trafficking and criminal elements, a special contact program was organized by Jalandhar Rural Police under the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign at Milan Palace Goraya.

This program was organized under the guidance of Mr. Harvinder Singh Virk PPS Senior Superintendent of Police, and SP Investigation Mr. Sarabjit Rai Ji, under the leadership of DSP Sub Division Goraya Sarwan Singh Bal and Inspector Sikander Singh Virk, In-charge of police station Goraya.

During the program, Panchayats of 30 to 35 villages of the district participated and took an oath to fulfill their shared responsibility towards drug eradication.  The villagers, carrying placards with the names of their villages, declared them drug-free villages and promised full cooperation to the Jalandhar Rural Police.

More than 300 people were present on this occasion who were seen standing with the police in the ongoing Yudh Nashian Virudh.

SSP Jalandhar Rural Harvinder Singh Virk said in his message:

 “No person selling drugs will be spared. We are committed to making a drug-free Punjab with the support of the public by taking strict action at the legal level. This is not only the responsibility of the police, but a joint fight of every citizen.”

Thus, the Jalandhar Rural Police is not only dealing strictly against drug smugglers, but is also taking steps towards the creation of a new Punjab through awareness, trust and cooperation at the village level.
