Patiala, 28 May:
In a major step towards ensuring environmental sustainability and public health, Patiala Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Centre for Clean Water (ICCW), an esteemed research center established under the aegis of IIT Madras. The collaboration marks the initiation of a state-of-the-art Clean and Safe Drinking Water Plant at Ranbirpura village, Patiala — a significant move to provide a sustainable and long-term solution for access to clean water.
As the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Partner, Patiala Foundation is spearheading community engagement efforts to bridge the gap between technical solutions and grassroots awareness. Reinforcing its commitment to community empowerment, the Foundation organized an interactive awareness session for students of Government Elementary School, Ranbirpura.
The session, conducted by Mr. Ravee Singh Ahluwalia, CEO of Patiala Foundation, introduced children to the concept of clean water, hygiene practices, and the dangers of waterborne diseases. Using age-appropriate language, engaging visuals, storytelling, and hands-on demonstrations, the session aimed to instill essential knowledge and inspire children to become ‘Water Protectors’—champions of health and hygiene in their homes and communities.
“We believe that true change begins at the grassroots. By sensitizing children today, we are planting seeds of awareness that will yield long-term community transformation,” said Mr. Ahluwalia. At the end of the session, students proudly pledged to ensure safe water practices in their households.
This collaboration underlines Patiala Foundation’s ongoing mission to empower communities through innovation, education, and environmental responsibility. With the ICCW-led intervention and Patiala Foundation’s on-ground expertise, Ranbirpura is poised to become a model for clean water access and participatory public health.
