Dr Santosh Kumar did a prostate screening camp through Guru Nanak Geeta Kailash Memorial Foundation, on 28th September at Shri Shanatan Dharam Temple Sector 42 Chandigarh.
More than 50 patients were checked and free PSA, uroflowmetry test was carried out and medicine was distributed to patients. Dr. Santosh Kumar is a renowned urologist. The camp was aimed at raising awareness about prostate health and offer free diagnostic services to the elderly male population who are often at risk but may not have access to regular medical care.
More than 50 individuals attended the camp and underwent detailed prostate health evaluations. These essential diagnostic tests help in the early detection of conditions like benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary tract issues, and even prostate cancer.
In addition to screenings, free medicines were distributed to patients based on their medical needs.
Dr. Santosh Kumar and his team offered personalized consultations, answered patient queries, and provided health education on the importance of early detection and regular follow-ups.
The initiative was highly appreciated by the local community and temple management, as it provided a valuable healthcare service to many who otherwise might not have been able to afford it. Such camps highlight the importance of preventive healthcare in community settings.
