Nearly 200 hundred persons mostly women belonging to various trade unions and Sanyukat Kissan Morcha today blocked vehicular traffic near bus stand by staging dharna in the middle of Kapurthala- Jalandhar road in support of their demands.
Buses belonging to Pepsu roadways did not ply on routes .An official of depot said that out of a fleet of 90 buses only 20to 25 buses plied in early hours of morning on long routes .However private buses plied as usual .Nationalised Banks worked with half strength as fifty percent staff belonging to All India Bank employees Association went on strike today.The cash counters did not operate due to strike and customers have to return back without depositing or withdrawal of cash.
However strike was partial as it did not affect normal life.
