Weather Alert: Rain Warning for Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan Over Next 3 Days, Followed by Chill Surge

New Delhi, January 31 (2026): North India’s weather is set for another twist. A fresh Western Disturbance will bring rain to the capital Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh for the next three days. The weather department predicts a drop in temperatures and renewed cold after this rainfall.

Where Will It Rain?
Delhi-NCR: Friday’s temperature hit 22.6°C in Delhi—slightly above normal. Now, thunderstorms with rain are forecast for the next three days.
Rajasthan: Starting January 31 (Saturday), light to moderate rain with lightning is likely in Ajmer, Jaipur, Kota, and Bharatpur divisions.
Uttar Pradesh: Another spell of rain is expected from February 1-3, with strong winds boosting cold and fog.

Punjab and Haryana Update
Temperatures in Punjab and Haryana are currently near or slightly above normal. However, the weather office warns of changes from February 1, with rain possible in several areas.

End of ‘Chilla-e-Kalan’ in Kashmir
Good news for Kashmir Valley: the 40-day harsh winter phase ‘Chilla-e-Kalan’ ended on Friday. Srinagar recorded a minimum of 1.3°C—above freezing point—offering some relief from the biting cold.

Weather Department Advice
Expect falling temperatures due to rain and gusty winds over the next three days. People are urged to prepare for the cold, as winter could intensify in the first week of February.
