New Delhi, February 4, 2026: Tension erupted outside Parliament’s Makar Gate today during a heated verbal clash between Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu. During protests over suspended MPs in the Budget Session, Rahul spotted the Congress-defector-turned-BJP leader and immediately called out “Traitor!”

Viral Video Captures the Exchange

The viral social media video shows Rahul Gandhi laughing as Bittu passes protesting Congress leaders, saying, “Look, a traitor is coming. See his face.” Bittu stopped, pointed at the opposition MPs, and declared them “enemies of the nation.”

Rahul tried defusing with a handshake offer, saying, “Hello brother… my traitor friend, don’t worry, you’ll come back here.” Bittu firmly refused the handshake and walked away.

Background of the Feud

Ravneet Singh Bittu, grandson of late Punjab CM Beant Singh, quit Congress for BJP before Lok Sabha elections. Congress has targeted him since, while Bittu regularly attacks the Gandhi family. Recently, he claimed Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi are feuding, with Rahul insecure about his sister’s rising popularity.

Current Political Context

This incident coincides with opposition protests against a US defense deal. Continuous disruptions inside and outside Parliament have led to several MPs being suspended for the entire session.
