Major Success for Security Forces in J&K: 2 Jaish-e-Mohammad Terrorists Eliminated in Udhampur Encounter

Udhampur, February 4, 2026: Security forces achieved a significant victory in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, eliminating two terrorists linked to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) during a major military operation. The success came through a joint effort by the Indian Army, Jammu & Kashmir Police, and CRPF.

Operation Details

Specific intelligence revealed terrorist presence in Udhampur’s Bansantgarh area, prompting security forces to cordon off the region and launch a search operation. The intense gunfight, ongoing since yesterday, saw heavy firing from both sides before the two terrorists were neutralized.

Police Confirmation

J&K Police spokesperson confirmed the eliminated terrorists were planning a major attack in the area. Search operations continue to ensure no additional terrorists or explosives remain in the vicinity.
