Amid heightened nationwide security ahead of Republic Day, Rajasthan Police achieved a major breakthrough in Nagaur district. They raided a farmhouse and seized nearly 10,000 kilograms (9,550 kg) of illegal ammonium nitrate—the largest such recovery in the state’s history.
The joint operation by the district special police team and Nagaur Police took place late Saturday night in Harsor village.
Seized Items:
187 bags of ammonium nitrate.
9 boxes of detonators.
27 boxes and 20 bundles of fuse wire (blue and red).
Arrest: Police arrested Suleman Khan at the spot, who faces three prior cases linked to explosives.
Ammonium nitrate has been used in several past terrorist attacks, including the November 2025 blast near Delhi’s Red Fort. Though Suleman claims he supplied it for mining, police and central agencies are probing possible Republic Day links.
Nagaur SP Mridul Kachawa noted that details have been shared with central probe agencies (IB/NIA), which may soon interrogate Suleman.
