Lashkar-e-Taiba Claims Responsibility for Delhi Car Blast; Agencies Probe Viral Post Referencing ‘Operation Sindoor’

A social media post claiming responsibility for the recent car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station has sparked fresh concern among security agencies. The message, attributed to Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has gone viral on Telegram, where the group claims the blast was carried out as retaliation for “Operation Sindoor.” However, security authorities have not officially confirmed the authenticity of the message.

The explosion, which occurred on November 10 in a crowded area, resulted in multiple casualties and significant damage to nearby vehicles. Investigations are already underway, with the incident being probed as a suspected terror attack.

What the Viral Post Claims

The Telegram post circulating in LeT’s name states that “Lashkar-e-Taiba’s brave fighters carried out the attack in India’s capital, New Delhi, on November 10, 2025.” The message alleges that the attack was revenge for an earlier strike during Operation Sindoor, when an Indian missile reportedly hit a mosque named Bilal Masjid in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The post claims more than 50 people were killed in that incident, calling the Delhi blast a retaliatory act.

The message further declares that the group intends to “avenge every brick of the mosque” and continue its actions until “Kashmir is freed and India is destroyed.” The tone and language of the message indicate propaganda-style rhetoric often used in extremist communication.

Agencies Begin Verification

Indian intelligence agencies, Delhi Police, and cybercrime units are now analyzing the origin, timing, and network distribution of the post. Officials have stressed that the message has not been verified and may be an attempt to spread fear or exploit the situation for psychological impact.

Investigators are examining whether the account behind the post has known links to Lashkar-e-Taiba or whether it may be an impersonation attempt by other radical groups or individuals.

Meanwhile, forensic teams and counterterrorism agencies are continuing their examination of the car blast itself. As reported earlier, the Hyundai i20 used in the explosion was found to contain explosives, and investigators are probing possible connections to a terror module uncovered recently in Faridabad.

Situation Remains Under Close Watch

Authorities have tightened surveillance in sensitive areas and are monitoring communication channels associated with known terror networks. The Home Ministry has been briefed on developments, and further security advisories may be issued depending on the findings.

Officials emphasize that confirmation of responsibility will depend on concrete evidence, not just online claims. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected in the coming days.
