Burnt effigies of WTO, corporate houses and Modi-Khattar at Shambhu and Khannauri fronts

On the call of Kisan Majdoor Morcha and SKM (Non-Political), funeral processions were taken out across the country today and effigies of WTO, corporate houses and Modi-Khattar were burnt. By the time this press note was written, there were reports of protests in thousands of villages across 13 states.

At the Shambhu border on the Shambhu and Khannauri fronts, life-size effigies of the WTO, corporate houses, Modi-Khattar and Ambani-Adani were burnt, while slogans of thousands of farmers reverberated in the sky. Farmer leaders raised their voice on the conspiracies and anti-farmer-labour policies of the WTO from the day-long forums on both the fronts.

The Morcha has once again strongly demanded that the Punjab government should register a case against the killers of Shaheed Kisan Shubhkaran and take appropriate action against them. If the Punjab government does not do this even now, then the farmers will stand against this breach of promise.
