In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through Mumbai, Dr. Orlem Brandon Serrao, a resident of Malad suburbs, got a horrifying shock in his online-ordered ice cream: a human finger.
The ordeal unfolded on Tuesday when Dr. Serrao, a Mumbai-based doctor, decided to treat himself to some ice cream and placed an order with Yummo Ice Creams. Little did he know, he would be served more than just a sweet treat.
As Dr. Serrao indulged in his butterscotch ice cream cone, he encountered an unexpected obstacle in the form of a solid object in his mouth. Initially mistaking it for a nut or a piece of chocolate, his shock turned to horror when he realized it was, in fact, a human finger.
Recalling the traumatic experience in a video statement, Dr. Serrao expressed gratitude that he hadn’t swallowed the foreign object. “I had ordered three cone ice creams from an app. One of them was a butterscotch ice cream of Yummo brand. After eating half of it, I felt a solid piece in my mouth. I thought it could be a nut or a chocolate piece and spat it out to check what it was,” he recounted.
Upon closer examination, Dr. Serrao, with his medical expertise, identified the object as a human thumb, complete with nails and fingerprint impressions. The shocking discovery left him deeply traumatized.
Acting swiftly, Dr. Serrao preserved the gruesome find in an ice pack and reported the incident to the Malad police. Subsequently, a case was registered against Yummo Ice Creams for food adulteration and endangering human life.
Both the ice cream and the severed finger were seized by authorities for further investigation. The police have initiated forensic analysis on the finger, and the ice cream has been sent for examination.
The discovery of a human body part in a food item has not only sparked concerns about food safety but has also raised suspicions of a larger, more sinister crime. The police are diligently investigating the matter to uncover any potential criminal activity associated with the disturbing incident.
