Ludhiana, June 12
Baljinder Kaur, MLA from Talwandi Sabo, addressed a poll meeting on Thursday in support of Rajya Sabha MP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Sanjeev Arora, who is contesting the Ludhiana (West) Assembly by-election.
In her speech, she highlighted the achievements of the AAP-led Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. She said the government has been fulfilling the promises made to the people and described its policies as “pro-people” and “pro-industry.”
She mentioned that she has been campaigning in Ludhiana (West) for the past ten days and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback about Arora. “The people here say Arora is a grounded, honest, and dedicated leader. He is the most deserving candidate,” she said.
Recalling the contribution of the late MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, she said that the people of the constituency had supported him wholeheartedly. After his untimely demise, AAP’s senior leadership chose Arora as the party’s candidate, she noted. “I am confident the voters will extend the same support to Arora, who has proven his commitment to development over the past three years,” she added.
She also said Arora would be inducted into the Punjab Cabinet as a Minister following his expected thumping victory. Appealing to voters, she urged them to support Arora in large numbers to ensure continued development of the constituency.
In his address, Sanjeev Arora presented his three-year report card and listed various civic works he has facilitated in Ludhiana. He praised the state government’s performance in healthcare, education, power, and employment, and said Punjab is witnessing positive transformation under CM Mann’s leadership.
Calling upon voters to ensure a strong turnout, Arora said, “Spare at least ten minutes to cast your vote. Don’t think one vote doesn’t matter—remember, an ocean is made of countless drops.”
