Ludhiana, May 31
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for the Ludhiana (West) assembly constituency, held a meeting with local residents at Kitchlu Nagar (Block-E) this morning and shared his vision for the city.
During the meeting, Arora presented his three-year report card, highlighting the developmental work he has undertaken as an MP. He also detailed recent civic projects completed over the past three months, including the installation of new streetlights, road relaying, and installation of power transformers to improve electricity supply.
Arora emphasized that he had carried out all development initiatives with full dedication, without expecting anything in return. However, now that he is contesting the upcoming by-election, he is seeking the public’s support and votes. He assured the residents that if elected, he would work four times harder to transform Ludhiana into a model city.
He also highlighted several pro-people policies and initiatives launched by the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Notably, he spoke about the Sadak Surakhya Force (SSF), which has deployed high-tech vehicles on state roads. According to Arora, the SSF has significantly reduced road accidents, reporting a 10% decline compared to last year.
In addition, he lauded the government’s “Yudh Nashiyan Virudh” campaign aimed at eliminating drug abuse across Punjab. He said houses bought with illicit wealth by drug traffickers are being demolished and strict police action is being taken against them.
Arora further informed the gathering that the state government is actively working to provide employment, with over 51,000 jobs already offered to the unemployed.
He appealed to the electorate to vote in the name of development and continued progress.
Municipal Councillor Maninder Kaur Ghuman praised Arora’s commitment and leadership. “I have no words to describe his personality and dedication,” she said, adding, “He is the best leader.” She mentioned that Arora never refuses any development request and recalled numerous civic works completed due to his initiative. She assured Arora of strong support from her ward in the upcoming election.
Others present on the occasion included Davinder Singh Bhullar, Manu Jairath, Kamal Malhotra, and Satwinder Singh.
