MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla took part in various meetings organized for the welfare of OBCs. In these meetings, important steps were discussed to improve the welfare of OBC category.
Today in Mumbai, MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla, along with the members of the Committee on Welfare of Other Backward Classes, held meaningful discussions with various stakeholders regarding OBC welfare in Central Railways, IRCTC, MDL, RBI, SBI, ONGC and HPCL. MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that he has participated as a member of this committee and he also considers it his duty to do such work for the backward classes so that they can stand shoulder to shoulder in the progress of the country.
He said that under this committee, discussions were held with the officials of the Ministry of Finance (Department of Financial Services) and RBI regarding ‘measures taken to ensure representation of OBCs in employment in RBI and for their welfare’. Discussions were held with the representatives of the OBC Employees Welfare Association of State Bank of India (SBI) regarding ‘ensuring representation of OBCs in employment in SBI’. Meetings were held with the officials of the Ministry of Finance (Department of Financial Services) and SBI regarding ‘participation of OBCs in employment in SBI’, with the representatives of the OBC Employees Welfare Association of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and with PSUs and other organizations in ONGC. Apart from this, the problems faced by OBCs in Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Ministry of Defense (Department of Defense Production), their solutions and their welfare were discussed in detail. MP Aujla said that every section has an important contribution in the development of the country and this committee ensures that whatever facilities are given to the OBC class by the government, they reach them and people of that category can avail its benefits. Being a member of the committee, he works and will continue to work for the welfare of people of this class in Amritsar also.
